How We Treat

Galloway PT excels at identifying the WHY behind dysfunction.

Once the root cause is identified, Dr. Rilke utilizes a multitude of techniques and approaches to ensure you receive the specific therapeutic interventions necessary for full recovery.

Manual Therapy

Also know as hands-on therapy, this approach includes:

  • Soft tissue mobilization: This technique involves applying pressure to the soft tissues of the body, such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments, to relieve tension and improve flexibility.

  • Joint mobilization: Joint mobilization involves gently moving the joints in specific directions to improve mobility and reduce pain.

  • Manipulation: Manipulation, also known as joint manipulation or adjustment, involves applying a quick, controlled force to a joint to restore normal motion and function.

  • Myofascial release: This technique involves applying sustained pressure to the myofascial connective tissues to eliminate pain and restore motion.

  • Trigger point therapy: Trigger point therapy involves applying pressure to specific points on the body to relieve pain and improve muscle function.

Postural Restoration

The goal of Postural Restoration therapy, based on the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI), is to correct improper movement patterns that often lead to imbalance, injury and pain. Often the missing element to full recovery is not pushing your body harder but learning how to relax, to breath, inhibit overly jumpy, tight muscles in order to allow for muscular balance and improved performance.

Kinesiotape

Kinesio Taping is a rehabilitative application designed to improve range of motion, decrease pain, edema, improve muscle performance and assist the body’s natural healing process. Kinesio taping can be a valuable adjunct to traditional physical therapy treatments for acute injuries, helping patients recover more quickly and effectively while minimizing pain and discomfort.

Therapeutic Modalities

Therapeutic modalities are used for pain modulation, tissue healing, improving muscle activation.
